For the friend of Sebastian Melmoth, see Alfred Douglas.
Alfred was the son of Suenteus Po.
History[]
Upon his father's death, he assumed the name Suenteus Po and led the army that conquered Iest. What followed was a brief Golden Age, which ended due to internal friction, incompetence, and natural disasters.
In his final years, Alfred embraced mysticism, and founded the Illusionists. He granted his name to his followers, and it has been used by many (if not most) Illusionists ever since.
His son was Suenteus Po III.
Quotes about Alfred[]
- "My son Alfred was not an ignorant man, nor an evil man; but his motivation in taking both my place and my name were of a basic and mundane sort. Conquest was, to him, as it is to most Great Conquerors; a balm for his vanity, a jewel in his imagined crown."[1]
- "By the time of his death at the age of forty-one, fully one third of the population of the Lower City was named Suenteus Po and believed themselves to function within a single, divine consciousness." - Suenteus Po[2]
