Archbishop Posey was an Archbishop of the Eastern Orthodox Church of Tarim.
History[]
Archbishop Posey first met Cerebus when he delivered "Most Holy" his Papal robes. After Cerebus took his wife and mother-in-law to a hotel near the East Wall, Posey was sent to deliver a message by Archbishop Powers. Initially, Cerebus was going to have Bear rough him up and send him back with a message carved in his forehead. Instead, Cerebus dictated a letter to Boobah on Posey's behalf denouncing both Powers and the Lion of Serrea. After that, Posey stayed with Cerebus and the rest of his group at the hotel.
Later, Posey was sentenced by the Cirinists to five years hard labor for being an orthodox cleric in violation of Upper City quarantine. At one point, believing he saw Cerebus in his robes as Most Holy, he cried out, only to be killed by the Cirinists.
Nature[]
- Archbishop Posey was timid and shy. He would stutter when he spoke.

Dave Sim on Archbishop Posey[]
- "I had to work to make him look wimpy enough. First, the beard had to go. ...I was gradually moving in the right direction. Someone who looks like a stiff breeze would blow him away. Placid. Baaaa. You get the idea. I still needed to make it look more like his neck was blowing bubbles, but I was on the right track...Finally his neck is blowing bubbles and he's ready for his debut. People ask me who he's based on. He's sort of the generic Warner Brothers "timid soul" character. Chuck Jones was very good at drawing him, but so was Robert McKimson. My turn."[1]
