Batvark Penis No. 1 is a one-shot issue of Cerebus in Hell? published by Aardvark-Vanaheim. It is notable for being the only issue of Cerebus in Hell? to have a proper second printing. The cover is a parody of Batman: Damned from DC Comics, notable for a possibly unintentional illustration of Batman's penis.[1]

Stories[]

"The Insult That Turned a "Cuck" into an "Anal Rapist""[]

In a parody of the famous Charles Atlas ad ""The Insult that Made a Man out of Mac", Vark is mocked for not having a strong enough member. When he has it "marbleized", his girl leaves him to re-evaluate her priorities in choosing men.

"Cerebus in Hell?"[]

Batvark has a new penis, taken from Michelangelo's David. He talks about it for a while, then mentions a dream where he is in a remake of Neil Gaiman's The Books of Magic, illustrated with an image of Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter. He then launches into a series of gags tying together The Joker, Joe E. Lewis, Frank Sinatra and his 1957 film The Joker Is Wild in which he portrayed Lewis. Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner joins the Books of Magic remake and much is made of his visual similarity to John Constantine (who he is not). The Whore of Babylon appears and Mandrake the Magician is discussed along with this issue's similarity to Batman: Damned. To highlight this, the Whore of Babylon is shown to be a "hot chick in fishnet stockings" before leaving to sue for workplace harassment. Batvark wraps things up with a special appearance by Joe E. Lewis, who is dead.

Publication Notes[]

  • This issue was printed initially with three different covers. One with the full title, one with "XXXXX" in place of "Penis" and a "virgin" cover, with no text. Sales were strong enough to justify a second printing, with a modified cover.
