Cerebus the Aardvark No. 45 is an issue of Cerebus published by Aardvark-Vanaheim.
Stories[]
"Cerebus' Six Crises: Crisis Number Two: A Night in Iest" aka Summit Enchanted Evening[]
Lord Julius and Duke Leonardi of New Sepra, a parody of Chico Marx, come to Iest for a trilateral summit. Lord Julius' suggestion that the New Seprans are stupid and rich causes Cerebus to change his plans of conquest. Astoria talks Cerebus into meeting with his cabinet, to which Cerebus replies he should have disbanded cabinet meetings when he disbanded the legislature. At the cabinet meeting, Blakely asks one question and then Cerebus quickly leaves. Cerebus then discusses matters with his inner circle, which consists of him getting drunk with Henrot and the Elf. Cerebus also gets a couple of Tarimite bishops totally sloshed. From them he finds out the importance of the albatross.

Story Notes[]
- This issue is "sideways" from the standard comicbook layout in that pages are rotated 90° from standard. In other words the pages are landscape style instead of portrait style.
- "Don't ask me why, but I was sure he was going to say something else just then" - Lord Julius and Duke Leonardi are based on Groucho and Chico Marx, and the Marx Brothers movie "The Cocoanuts" contains a lengthy gag starting with Chico's character mishearing "viaduct" as "why a duck".
- Cerebus' cabinet has its only on-panel meeting. Attending are Filgate, Blakely, Lord Rodney, the unnamed Minister for External Affairs, and the unnamed Minister of Roads and Waterways (both last seen in issue 45).
