Khem was a demon/succubus in Tansubal who was allegedly the guardian of the Eye of Terim.
History[]
Khem fed on souls and used the bodies thus captured as warriors. Its victims would spend their time carving representations of Khem into the soft rock of an underground maze cavern.
It was said to have a "crimson claw".[1] It is unclear if there was any connection to the Red Claw terrorists who seem to play a part in the Roach's various origins.
While Cerebus was traveling with Borealan mercenaries, they were ambushed by an army of Khem's soul-drained warriors. Cerebus then fell into the subterranean dwelling, and discovered the supposed Eye of Terim, which was actually a trap Khem used to steal people's souls. Due to its inability to locate Cerebus' soul, he was able to escape Khem's clutches and, in so doing, free all of the captive souls, reducing the enslaved warriors to skeletons.
At least two years later, at the time of the "Great Change", Khem suddenly realized the purposelessness of its existence (now that its spell has been broken) and self-destructs.[2]
