Sheriff "Show No Mercy" Dolan was the sheriff of Garrison Town. He had a "freelance strong-arm" working for him called "The Spirit or The Wraith or some such".
History[]
Cerebus was arrested while in Garrison Town because (according to Cerebus) "some farmer had got his nose broke by slamming it repeatedly into Cerebus' foot". When Cerebus refused to pay the two-crown fine, Dolan ordered him jailed. When The Spirit attempted to do so, a fight broke out. It ended when the janitor paid the fine to avoid "a lot of extra work" cleaning up the mess.

Sheriff Dolan is based on Commissioner Eustace Dolan from The Spirit comics, the creation of Will Eisner.
